Today’s post is about my future job. For those who don't know, I would like to work as a film editor, I imagine myself assembling all kinds of movies, and working with the director to create the perfect narrative for it.
As you can imagine, a film editor usually works in a desk with his computer, so it will be an indoors job, but I don’t see myself working in a dark room at night, I think I work better in the day. The film editor works at his own space, so it’s not a “travel” job, and if it was I wouldn’t like to travel for work, I’m a homemade person.
Besides, film editing is an independent job, so I wouldn’t have an established salary, I would be paid for a specific project/movie, and I think it would be the exact amount to live a normal life.
Nowadays, I’m studying Film and Television at ICEI. This year we are taking the courses for our majors, and I took one from Documentary Editing and Post-Production of Image. I took those classes to increase my knowledge in editing, and be capable of developing editing in it’s different areas, like fiction, documentary or post-production. My plan is to finish university, and that’s it, I don’t want to continue studying. I hope I can find a way to actually work in cinema, and if I don’t I would think about another job, maybe something related to gardening (that’s the Plan B).

Film and Television was my second choice to study (I’m studying journalism)
